And frankly, it’s a good thing this comp remembers my wordpress password for me. Now, where were we?
Okay, so it was a busy summer. I left my old job, had a week off, went to a festival in Wales, and then started the new job. So far the new job has yet to become dynamic and exciting, and is mainly a case of hoping no-one is passing the door while I’m checking my gmail. It is 14 hours a week of admin for a family-related charity, so at least I can justify the rather pitiful wage in knowing it’s for a good cause. A good cause that mainly seems to exist in order to have meetings.
In between all that other stuff, I have been teaching up to three antenatal breastfeeding classes a week, and LOVING it. I love teaching. It’s the best thing. I come home on a high every time, and bore Pete with all the details. If I had time, I would want to blog about it all the time; although of course I can’t because of confidentiality. But I LOVE it. I also do shifts on the NCT Breastfeeding Line, and I feel much more confident doing that now. And I am running a support group on a Friday afternoon at the Children’s Centre. If I could be a full time BFC, I would be so very happy.
Meanwhile, Bernard has started doing two sessions a week at preschool. Just an ordinary preschool, because there’s no way on this earth we can afford montessori, and anyway, having read about it, I’m not sure it’s all that. And he’s loving it, too. He wants to go every day. He especially likes getting a new library book at each session, and he tells me every day that he was the milk monitor, although I’m not convinced that’s true.
And poor old Pete has gone back to working 5 days a week, after a heroic and hopefully enjoyable two years of very special Thursdays with his son. He remains the most hands-on, capable and reliable dad I know.

It’s great that you’re enjoying the breastfeeding stuff as much as you hoped you would. Always good when something turns out as good or better than expected
It’s been a tough summer for blogging for some reason. I’ve hardly done any either. Glad to hear all is well with you all, Bernard’s preschool sounds brilliant, library books rock. Rach x
Book recommendations would be fab – what would you suggest? x
