A little while ago I told you about my plan to have nothing bought for me for my birthday this year. My birthday was last week, and I’m pleased to report that I didn’t get much, and the things I did get were either things I really wanted (saucepans from Pete, slippers from Alice), consumable things (a basket of chilli sauces from my dad), or things that were made [if not home-made] (a painting by a local artist, from my brother). The prize goes to my small sister, now in her first term at uni, who made a donation to the Stop AIDS society on my behalf. Excellent work.
